My name is Lucy Vardanega and I am the principal teacher and owner of Bella Dance Studio.  I have 2 beautiful girls who love to dance and a supportive husband.  I started dancing at the age of 6 and have danced for over 16 years.  During that time, I competed in many competitions, eisteddfods, recitals, public performances, attended a number of summer schools all around Australia and won dancing bursaries.  I was also lucky enough to participate in a dance workshop with members of the Australian Ballet.  I have also choreographed dances for the debutante ball in the Burdekin as well as the Maraka ball, Maraka variety concerts and the hair show. Under the guidance of Clodagh Molloy and Robyn Croft (an R.A.D children’s examiner) I completed all ballet examinations from pre primary to Advanced 2 through the Royal Academy of Dance.  I am a registered teacher through the Australasian Dance Association and hold an Intermediate Diploma in tap, jazz and ballet.  Whilst studying a Bachelor of Education at James Cook University, I taught with Melissa Torrisi at Simply Dance in Ayr for 7 years.  There I taught a range of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, funk and contemporary.  In 2007 I moved to Ingham taking on a teaching position at Canossa Primary School and later Our Lady of Lourdes School.  Whilst teaching at school, I encouraged many students to participate in dance related activities such as Maraka Fetivals and local competitions.  Being involved in these extra curricular activities made me realise my strong desire for dance and in 2011 Bella Dance Studio was opened.  My new found desire to impart my dance knowledge to the students has been amazing and I hope to continue to pass on this knowledge, wisdom and love of dance in the years to come.
